A very common bird in Johannesburg : the Hadeda

The hadedas are a type a ibis but unlike the sacred ibis (which I am hoping to photograph soon) they are very very common in Johannesburg. They are noisy birds and not particularly elegant. They are often seen in couples. Now that I think of it I have never seen a chick hadeda, and never seen a nest either. They roost in trees, usually at the very top and they are big so you would think that a nest would be easy to see. I checked the bird book and it says nothing about the nests.... I'll have to ask.

Saw many of these during our stay in Joburg, but was having a difficult time with identification. Thanks!
