Random January Pictures

Wow, I am totally not blogging these days. I haven't been on the internet in a long time. So here is January

I've been feeding the birds and thoroughly enjoying it. Now that days are longer and it is full day light at 7:30am those little guys start singing at my door at 7:30 to get their food (I take it in at night so other animals don't eat it), as a result they get me out of bed and I call them "the breakfast crowd".

Whiskey jacks... the first to come. They were here months ago

The new project for January is to cut my own wood. So I cut down tress with a chainsaw (that Curtis gave me) and put them in the old truck, split them if needed and stack it. I tell you it is actually a lot of work especially in the snow at this time of the year. I am getting fitter all the time.
This is where I cut trees and the trees in the background are the trees I cut.

Here is some of the result.

And when the chainsaw stops it is back to beautiful quiet serene winter landscape.

One day gong home after cutting wood the light of the sun setting was just hitting the top of the trees and I even had my camera to try and capture it, but of course, take my word for it,  the photos do not do it justice.

Excellent photos. Always interesting. Much enjoyed. Be careful with that chainsaw! We thought of you while we were at Big Bend NP January-mid February. We are en route (slowly) to the Grand Canyon where we will be March-May. Keep the photos coming.

The birds are pretty cool too, but not nearly as cool as your firewood!!! Awesome!
