Green parrots in Johannesburg

More blurry bird pictures. These parrots are about 40cm long with the tail. They are quite nice. I think that are Roseringed Parakeets. "Rose-ringed" because from close you can see a pink ring around their neck.

Hi, I have occasionally seen a flock of 8 parrots flying over my house in Blairgowrie. They fly west in the morning at around 6-6:30 am, and return east in the evenings at around 5:30-6:pm. But theyare rapid flyers and I only have a period of about 3 seconds to see them. Where do they come from and where do they go?

We caught a glimpse of these stunning birds in Parkhurst this afternoon. About 25-30 of them in and out of the trees. We got some blurry photos ourselves if you would like to see them.

I was so excited seeing them in parkhurst this morning. Could not believe what I was seeing.
Saw them really close-up but alas no camera.

If you pay attention to their call you will be able to know when they are around and you may be surprised to see how often you see them.
David is right, their are real creatures of routine.

Since they appear to be creatures of habit I would guess that you stand a good chance to see them just about every morning. Aren't they great
