The Blizzard has Blown Over

Me on my way to library (hence the back pack). The library is not quite a kilometer away and I was dressed warmly (as you can see) so it wasn't that bad. The worse is to talk yourself into getting out.

Well, it was quite the blizzard and today I am sore from all the snow shoveling I have done.
It was cold, but not as cold as today, but this is quite typical. Once the cold air which was creating all that trouble when it mixed with the wet warmer air fully arrives all you are left with is the cold... and it is here.

For the fun of it I followed the pattern of the snow storm as it moved south. Here is the succession of snow storm/blizzard warning from Environment Canada.

Remember yesterday it started like this (this is the evening of Dec 1st)(red is storm warning, yellow is storm watch, meaning it is on its way but not quite yet)

At 10:00am the next morning It had moved south and east. (green means that the warning as recently ended)

At noon, no really motion just

By evening (at 9:00pm) it is shrinking and moving south into the States

This morning it is mostly gone, and in fact right now in Calgary it is sunny which people who know Canada will know means that it is cold.
